Methodist, U.S. government near settlement for lawsuit
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and the U.S. government are nearing a settlement on a suit filed against the hospital system in 2017. The hospital system made an offer to settle the case for $7.25 million in late August. (Mark Weber/The Daily Memphian file)
Differences remain between Methodist and the government, including questions about attorney fees and a corporate integrity agreement the government wants to force on Methodist, but that the hospital says it will not accept.
