Her 3-year-old son, Jackson, has been seeing doctors for a genetic disorder and epilepsy since he was a baby. Colds and viruses typically cause flare-ups, bringing multiple seizures a week, even with medication.

The first pet therapy dog at the hospital, she made her public debut on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
