Welcome to Inked, a column that notes some of the week’s commercial real estate transactions and updates in the greater Memphis area that may have gone unnoticed.

Contrast therapy suites planned for East Memphis

SweatHouz, an Atlanta-based wellness company, will add a 2,500-square-foot East Memphis location with infrared saunas, cold plunges and vitamin C showers.

The 715 S. Mendenhall Road space, located between Torchy’s Tacos and Crumbl in Williamsburg Village, is currently under construction for SweatHouz, and franchisee Paul Stephens expects the business to open in October.

Fire and ice is a very hot — and then very cold — health trend

“I had back pain for 20 years,” Stephens said. “I got introduced to contrast therapy, and after 20 years of pain and trying everything, it went away from doing saunas and cold plunging, and I did some other things, too, but it helped with the inflammation and everything else.”
