Memphis Art Museum rooftop sign approved

By , Daily Memphian Published: July 01, 2026 5:02 PM CT

A Downtown Memphis Commission board gave the green light for the new Memphis Art Museum’s signage, including a code deviation.

Graphic designer Paula Scher designed the two signs, one for the rooftop and one at the street level.

The Design Review Board approved the building design for the 117,000-square-foot building at 55 S. Front St. in April 2023. This is for exterior signage, which is expected to be installed in the fall when the rest of the construction is being completed.
