Downtown DoubleTree owners want to invest $63M in renovating hotel

Seven years after an attempt to renovate the DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown sputtered out, developers are proposing a $63 million renovation.
Memphis K&U and Ohio-based Continental Hospitality Group are seeking a 20-year payment-in-lieu-of-taxes incentive to “rehabilitate” the hotel at 185 Union Ave.
The Memphis Center City Revenue Finance Corp. will consider the request Tuesday, July 14.
