After years idle, Central Avenue hotel project set to start

The Economic Development Growth Engine of Memphis and Shelby County approved a tax increment financing plan on Wednesday, Sept. 16, for a new hotel at Central Avenue and South Highland Street.
3535 Partners LLC, led by developer Vince Smith, plans a 112-room Tapestry by Hilton on the former site of the Third Church of Christ, Scientist at 3535 Central Ave.
