Fueling a crisis: How war with Iran is impacting airlines, trucking industries in Memphis

As the war with Iran enters its third month, many news reports have focused on how the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has caused gas prices for motorists to spike nationwide.

And while those impacts are considerable, rising fuel prices are impacting major industries, including airlines, trucking and logistics companies.

No matter the business, the pump remains a good indicator for how the war is impacting consumers, said Capt. Kimberly Coryat, aviation program coordinator at the University of Memphis.
