FedEx files permit for $18.1M expansion at airport

FedEx Corp. is expanding its international freight operations at Memphis International Airport with an addition valued at $18.1 million, according to a permit.
That permit, filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development, is for an addition to an existing freight canopy at its International Priority Freight Shipment Facility at 2903 Sprankel Ave.
According to the permit, the addition would be about 51,500 square feet with new toilets, an electrical room, an intermediate distribution frame room, equipment issue room and vending area. It would be built in three phases.
