Shelby County coronavirus case total increases by 109

There are 109 more coronavirus cases in Shelby County and two more deaths resulting from the disease, according to the Shelby County Health Department.
That brings the reported total to 8,203 cases and 166 deaths; 5,662 are considered recovered.
Those 109 new cases come from 2,012 tests, a positivity rate of 5.4%. To date, 111,937 coronavirus tests have been administered in Shelby County.
As of 5 p.m. June 22, 216 people were hospitalized for coronavirus in Shelby County, according to the state’s Health Resources Tracking System.
According to HRTS, 82% of acute care beds and 76% of ICU beds in Shelby County were being utilized, overall.
The state releases new coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.
As of Monday, June 23, there were 35,553 reported coronavirus cases, with 23,567 of those considered recovered. More than 500 deaths (531) were attributed to coronavirus.
And nearly 700,000 coronavirus tests have been administered statewide.
