Coronavirus: Nearly 300 new cases reported

Nearly 300 more coronavirus cases have been added to the Shelby County total.
The Shelby County Health Department reported 290 new coronavirus cases and two new related deaths on Friday, Nov. 6.
The 290 cases come from 2,549 tests, which gives the day a positivity rate of 11.4%.

In Shelby County, 326,462 people have been tested for coronavirus; 12% have received a positive test result. And 569,421 coronavirus tests have been performed; 8% have had a positive result. The total numbers differ because some people get tested multiple times.
Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total since March is 39,031 cases, including 35,768 inactive cases (recoveries), 2,681 active cases and 582 deaths.
Updated area hospital facility figures were not available on Friday. According to the Health Department, Thursday’s information will be available on Saturday. And Friday, Saturday and Sunday information will be available on Monday.
Tennessee’s Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus data at 2 p.m. daily.
As of Thursday, the agency reported 271,771 coronavirus cases, including 3,509 deaths, 1,502 current hospitalizations and 243,492 inactive cases (recoveries).
About 3.8 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
