Coronavirus: Seven new deaths, more than 350 new cases reported

The Shelby County Health Department reported 366 new coronavirus cases and seven new related deaths on Friday, Nov. 27.
The 366 cases come from 5,499 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 6.7%.
In Shelby County, 361,799 people have been tested for coronavirus; 13% have received positive results. And 651,637 coronavirus tests have been performed; 9% have returned positive results. (The total numbers differ because some people have been tested more than once.)

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 46,696 cases, including 42,704 inactive cases (recoveries), 3,333 active cases and 659 deaths.
Updated hospital capacity information was unavailable on Friday. The Health Department said information for Thursday through Sunday would be included in Monday’s update.
As of 5 p.m. Nov. 25, 422 COVID-19 patients were in area hospital beds, according to the Tennessee Healthcare Resource Tracking System.
According to the HRTS, 92% of area intensive care unit beds and 90% of area acute care beds were in use then, and 36 area ICU and 239 area acute care beds were available.

As of 5 p.m. Thursday, the agency reported 352,376 coronavirus cases, including 4,519 deaths, 2,178 current hospitalizations and 312,885 inactive cases (recoveries).
About 4.4 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
