Coronavirus: Shelby County averaging 425 new cases daily

For the past seven days, Shelby County has averaged 425 new COVID-19 cases per day.

On Tuesday, Sept. 21, the Shelby County Health Department reported 212 new novel coronavirus cases and 15 new coronavirus-related deaths.
Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 138,797 cases, including 1,988 deaths. There are currently 5,829 reported active coronavirus cases, 1,923 (about 33%) of those being pediatric.
Shelby County is now 68.6% of the way to the goal of vaccinating 700,000; 480,387 people have been vaccinated.
According to the Health Department, Shelby County has averaged 1,346 vaccinations against COVID-19 per day for the past seven days.
