Coronavirus: Shelby County averaging about 120 new cases per day

Shelby County has averaged 117 new coronavirus cases per day for the past seven days.
The Shelby County Health Department reported 94 new cases and eight new coronavirus-related deaths on Wednesday, Oct. 20.
That brings Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total to 144,968 cases, including 2,201 deaths.

There are a reported 1,440 active cases with 352 — or 24% — of those being illnesses in children.
Shelby County has also averaged 712 COVID-19 vaccinations per day for the past seven days.
Shelby County is 71.2% of the way to its goal of vaccinating 700,000 people; 498,548 residents have been vaccinated.
