Coronavirus: Shelby County averaging 90 new cases per day

Shelby County has averaged 90 new COVID-19 cases per day for the past seven days.

On Wednesday, Oct. 27, the Shelby County Health Department reported 78 new coronavirus cases and two new coronavirus-related deaths.

There are 1,102 active cases reported in Shelby County, with 287 — or 26% — of them being pediatric. 

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 145,601 cases, including 2,229 deaths.


Majority of COVID vaccination doses given in Shelby County now third doses


Shelby County has averaged 1,618 COVID-19 vaccinations per day for the past seven days.

Shelby County is 71.6% of the way to the goal of 700,000 residents being vaccinated COVID-19; 501,384 people have been vaccinated so far.
