The Daily Memphian, along with several Memphis media outlets, is taking part in the Mid-South Food Bank’s “A Day of Giving” campaign on Friday, Nov. 14.
To support the campaign, people can make financial donations to the Food Bank website.
According to the Food Bank, each $10 donated can provide 30 meals.
The Daily Memphian has compiled a list of places where Memphians can receive and give help.
People can also donate physical, nonperishable items at the event, which takes place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Poplar Plaza Shopping Center located at the corner of Poplar Avenue and South Highland Street.
Food items that can be donated are canned meat (such as tuna, chicken, and soup), canned fruit (preferably with no sugar added), canned vegetables (preferably with no salt added), canned 100% juice, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, dried beans, and rice.
