Word Search: Satellite Music Hall

Crosstown Concourse and Live Nation broke ground on their new music venue called Satellite Music Hall.
The name was revealed during a ceremony Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Todd Richardson, president and CEO of Crosstown Concourse, explained the meaning of the name “Satellite.”
“(It is) inspired by satellites that orbit the Earth, gathering sounds and information across the globe and transmitting it back to one location, so the Satellite Music Hall pays tribute to both the global connections made possible by the Live Nation partnership as well as Memphis’ local musical roots by honoring Satellite Records,” he said.
The name is a call back to the original name of Stax Records. The Satellite Record Shop later stood next door to Stax Records on East McLemore Avenue.
