Elementary to high school students in the Arlington Community Schools district are getting additional life-changing experiences thanks to legacy grants from the town’s Board of Education.
This year, the district has approved 55 such grants for everything from band to academic and sports to even the board game club. The money is divided from $500,000 earmarked as part of the district board’s annual budget.
“With us in such sound financial fiscal shape, we wanted to find a way to continue to support our students in all their endeavors,” said board Chairman Scott Benjamin, whose four children attended the ACS system and were involved in a variety of activities, including playing multiple sports.
