Jigsaw: When worlds collage
Artist Zack Orsborn sifts thought magazines before the April college party at Ugly Art Co. (Mark Weber/The Daily Memphian)
Memphis-based visual artist, author and musician Zack Orsborn is on day 127 of “living a creative life.”
Every month, dozens of locals flock to join him at a Marshall Avenue art studio to participate in his popular collage parties. Sometimes so many people come he has to cut off sign-ups.
Some will hover around Orsborn’s 120-quart Sterilite storage container stuffed with ripped-up National Geographic magazines, scraps of old Marlboro cigarette ads, state maps and books. Others will grab handfuls of shreds to take back to their workstation.
