Daily Jigsaw: ‘I’m flying’
Jeremy Liu, an eighth grader at West Collierville Middle, is spending his fall break roller skating in Beijing, China, accompanied by a 95-year-old coach who once starred in the sport.
But the 13-year-old’s time is about more than exercise and an international trip. He is representing Team USA in the World Artistic Roller Skating Championship, a sport similar to figure skating but on wheels instead of one blade and on a solid surface rather than ice. He will compete against other teens between 13 and 18 years old from around the world this weekend.
“Sometimes you can feel the wind or the air,” Jeremy Liu said. “It feels like I’m flying.”
