Daily Jigsaw: Food pantry at Lindenwood
McKinley Hall pulled into the parking lot of Lindenwood Christian Church in Midtown around 3 a.m. Saturday, and he wasn’t close to being the first in line.
Hall spent more than five hours waiting in his car, passing the time by listening to music, until he could drive through the church’s mobile food pantry where volunteers packed his car with peaches, pears, oranges, cabbage, stuffing, cereal, oatmeal, taco ingredients, mayonnaise, spaghetti sauce and other staples.
“I had to have some food some kind of way, so I got up this morning to get out here,” said Hall, who wound up spending about five hours at the church Saturday. “I got a 3-year-old and a 17-year-old, and they eat a lot.”
