Daily Jigsaw: A Thanksgiving answer
Nathaniel Kizer is 71 years old, retired and living alone, and he doesn’t always know where his next meal is coming from.
That’s why he was grateful to hear about the Thanksgiving morning hot meal giveaway at Christ Missionary Baptist Church in South Memphis on Thursday, Nov. 27. Kizer drove from his nearby home to the event where volunteers dispensed containers of hot food to those in cars or even some who just walked up looking for a meal.
“Been kinda hard. I’ve been eating here and there where I can,” Kizer said when asked how difficult it’s been to get enough food. “I just want something to eat.”
