After more than 40 years of serving Memphis, Westy’s owner Jake Schorr has decided to put the building he purchased in 1983 up for sale.
“As the manager, I’ve made a number of mistakes,” Schorr said. “When St. Jude (Children’s Research Hospital) started building their buildings, I should have closed and didn’t. I was just d----- and determined to figure out how to exist with them strangling our lunch business.”
Many of the restaurant’s more premium parking spots are often taken by construction workers, Schorr said.
