LONDON — Memphis Grizzlies wing Jaylen Wells needed a ride, so he called an Uber.
The car pulled up. He opened the door. Then he had a moment of panic.
“Usually, I look in the left-hand side seat to make sure that it’s the correct driver (from the ride-sharing app),” Wells said. “When I opened it up, I didn’t see anyone in the car. That’s when I realized that the driver was on the right side.
“It threw me off a little bit.”
