Memphis-Shelby County Schools used up its eighth and final snow day on Wednesday, Feb. 4. 

Then it announced it would be closed a ninth day, Thursday Feb. 5. 

“While conditions are improving, many areas, including residential streets, sidewalks, and bus stops remain impassable,” officials said in the closure announcement.
