Like millions of others, Adam Sykes was glued to the television Sunday. Unlike those millions, however, Sykes had a personal connection with one of the standouts of Super Bowl LX.
Sykes was the head coach at Arlington High from 2015 to 2020 and his star player was Kenneth Walker III, the Most Valuable Player of Seattle’s 29-13 victory against New England at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
“I’ve told other people it was kind of surreal watching him do that,” said Sykes, who took a few years off from coaching but is now back at Arlington as an assistant.
