Mayor Paul Young’s State of the City address drew vocal protests among a standing-room-only audience of several hundred Tuesday, Feb. 10, at First Baptist Church Broad.

The heckling from a group of several dozen called for Young and his administration to more openly oppose the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of the Memphis Safe Task Force law enforcement surge in the city since September.

At first Young addressed the hecklers, saying he would talk with them later.
