For the past two weeks, the head of the Memphis Area Transit Authority, Memphis Mayor Paul Young and others have used the word “stability” to describe the bus system.
Rodrick Holmes, MATA’s operations trustee, said the word multiple times to the Memphis City Council on Feb. 24 and repeated it even more times during an interview with The Daily Memphian Feb. 26.
“I say we are going to stabilize, improve and then grow,” Holmes said. “And that’s where we are. And I feel like we are on the right track — kind of pun intended — to stabilize, improve the service and then grow.”
