Daily Jigsaw: The Battle for the Bones
The Battle for the Bones between the Memphis Tigers and the UAB Blazers started off close before the Tigers pulled away in the second half to avenge last year’s loss at UAB.
The 38-13 win over UAB at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, with an announced attendance of 30,322, is the Tigers’ third straight victory by at least 24 points.
Memphis (5-1, 3-0 American Conference) outscored UAB (3-3, 1-1) 28-0 in the second half. Defensive lineman J’Mond Tapp recorded a sack, forced a fumble, and recovered a fumble, while linebacker Mike Montgomery led the Tigers with nine tackles.
