Daily Jigsaw: No go in NOLA

NEW ORLEANS — The Memphis Tigers looked like a different team than they did the previous three weeks in Friday’s 31-17 loss at Tulane.

The Tigers (5-2 overall, 2-1 in American) turned the ball over six times, the most since 2006, when they faced East Carolina.

They allowed a Tulane team that hadn’t scored more than 28 points all season to score 31. The Green Wave (3-3, 1-1) were averaging 18.4 points per game heading into the game. It’s hard to blame the Memphis defense for Tulane’s scoring when the offense treated the ball like a hot potato.
