Area adds 150+ new coronavirus cases

According to the Shelby County Health Department, the area added 154 new COVID-19 cases since yesterday. There were also four more deaths related to the disease over that same period. 

Today’s new cases were about 50 fewer than yesterday and were confirmed out of 1,336 tests administered. That gives the area a daily positivity rate of 7.1%.

In all, 101,532 tests have been given in the county. 

The Tennessee Department of Health reports statewide figures at 2 p.m. daily. 

Almost 5,000 people have gotten and recovered from the virus locally since the pandemic began.
