Coronavirus: Fewer than 200 new cases reported

The Shelby County Health Department reported fewer than 200 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The agency reported 187 new coronavirus cases and five new related deaths.

The 187 cases come from 1,786 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 10.5%.

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 40,868 cases, including 37,074 inactive cases (recoveries), 3,200 active cases and 594 deaths.

New area hospital capacity information was not available on Wednesday. The Health Department said it would include information from Tuesday in Thursday’s update.

Statewide coronavirus figures are released at 2 p.m. daily.

As of Tuesday, the state Department of Health reported 289,749 coronavirus cases, including 3,672 deaths, 1,634 current hospitalizations and 256,143 inactive cases (recoveries).

More than 3.9 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
