Coronavirus: More than 100 new cases and two new related deaths

The Shelby County Health Department reported more than 100 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, following two days of fewer than 100 new cases.

The agency reported 101 new coronavirus cases and two new coronavirus-related deaths.

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 90,497 cases, including 87,889 inactive cases (recoveries), 1,060 active cases and 1,548 deaths.

According to the latest Shelby County Health Department data, 180,161 people in Shelby County have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose; 80,519 people have received two vaccine doses. A total of 261,380 total doses have been administered in Shelby County.

Updated hospital capacity data was unavailable on Wednesday.

The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.

As of Tuesday, March 23, Tennessee’s reported coronavirus total is 803,104 cases, including 11,747 deaths, 756 current hospitalizations and 777, 820 inactive cases (recoveries).

About 7.1 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
