Coronavirus: Shelby County averaging 65 new cases per day
The Shelby County Health Department reported an average of 65 new coronavirus cases per day for the past seven days. That compares to a 7-day rolling average of 26 new coronavirus cases a week prior.

In the past seven days, an average of 791 people per day were also vaccinated against COVID-19. A week earlier,that number was 1,037.
Shelby County is 55.9% of the way to a stated goal of vaccinating 700,000 people; 391,595 people have received vaccinations so far.
On Thursday, July 8, the agency reported 88 new coronavirus cases. Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 100,330 cases, including 644 active cases, 97,996 inactive cases and 1,690 deaths.
