Coronavirus: Shelby County averaging nearly 800 new cases per day
Over the past week, Shelby County has averaged 798 new reported coronavirus cases per day.
On Wednesday, Aug. 25, the Shelby County Health Department reported 522 new coronavirus cases and three new coronavirus-related deaths. That brings the total number of cases to 121,506, including 1,829 deaths.
There are 8,742 active cases reported in Shelby County.

Shelby County is also averaging 1,984 new COVID-19 vaccinations per day; a total of 455,062 people in Shelby County have been vaccinated.
The county is 65% of the way to the goal of 700,000 being vaccinated.
