Youth center serves as ‘single stop’ for juvenile offenders
Youth apprehended for certain minor offenses by police officers or school resource officers will be referred to the Shelby County Youth and Family Resource Center, seen here, instead of being summoned to juvenile court. (Julia Baker/The Daily Memphian)
The center is meant to prevent recidivism at a young age, when youth may be most vulnerable to getting stuck in the justice system.
