The AM/DM podcast: ‘A Christmas Carol,’ ‘Rudolph’ and ‘Die Hard’

By , Daily Memphian Published: December 04, 2025 6:15 AM CT

The AM/DM is The Daily Memphian’s weekday podcast. Listen in every morning around 6:30 a.m. to get the news you need for the day, as well as a critical — but quick — interview on a larger story.

When it comes to going to the theater, December has some very popular — and very traditional — offerings. Think the Mouse King or Tuna, Texas, and you’ll know what we’re talking about.

Today, The Daily Memphian’s resident theater kid Alys Drake, who also writes our monthly theater roundup, takes us through December’s offerings.

Yes, there’s “A Christmas Carol,” “A Tuna Christmas,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “If Scrooge was a Brother.” And, in the vein of the “Die Hard” Christmas movie debate, there’s also “Annie Jr.” and “The Wizard of Oz.”

Drake and editorial director Mary Cashiola talk about it all.
