‘Snow day’ brings ice, keeps public works crews busy
By noon Thursday, Feb. 11, public works crews had cleared or were in the process of clearing 15 downed trees across the city, including this one that fell onto Walnut Grove near White Station. (Mark Weber/Daily Memphian)
The coating of ice arrived just before dawn Thursday, after a night of rain and followed by a light snow by afternoon. It is expected to hang around into the weekend.
