State delays considering change in property reappraisal
A letter drafted by Germantown Mayor Mike Palazzolo, which was signed by Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland and mayors of the other suburban towns and cities in Shelby County, was enough for the state Board of Equalization to defer action on Monday on the change in property reappraisal cycles. The delay comes after all seven city mayors in Shelby County came out against the switch from a four-year reappraisal cycle to the two-year cycle approved earlier this year by the Shelby County Commission.
