City Council continues crime, rape kit discussions
Memphis Police Department Director Cerelyn "C.J." Davis (middle) leads a joint press conference discussing the case of Cleotha Abston who is charged with kidnapping and murdering jogger Eliza Fletcher. She has been updating the council on changes she has made in MPD operations since taking the job more than a year ago. (Mark Weber/The Daily Memphian file)
The council discussion is the second since a series of violent crimes earlier this month that have raised new questions about how police and the community are battling violent crime.
