City Council returns to call for partisan primaries
Memphis CIty Council Chairman Martavius Jones is proposing a referendum on the August 2024 ballot to allow political parties to hold primaries in 2027. (The Daily Memphian file)
The ballot question would go to voters in 2024 if the council approves it. The council voted down a similar referendum last year.
