New plans for Mud Island echo its compelling past

The boat models that were the centerpiece of Mud Island’s River Museum were about to be “white-boxed,” or disassembled, from the imaginary river they’ve plied for more than 40 years.
That’s when a group of local artists taking a recent look around the park for an immersive, futuristic experience saw them in the museum that has been mothballed for six years and counting.
They decided to use the models for the experience to be called Baron Von Opperbean and the River of Time.
