As a student at LeMoyne College in 1960, Dorothy Truitt Walk joined the sit-in at Cossitt Library and changed her life as well as the city. (The Daily Memphian file)
She was arrested numerous times for participating in sit-ins, starting in March 1960 when she and others demanded access to library books.
