Drive-thru scholarships: ‘Cream of the crop’ awarded $2,000 each

Two nonprofits organized a colorful way to hand over scholarship checks of $2,000 each to 104 girls and young women on Friday, June 18.

Tom Bailey retired in January as a business reporter at The Daily Memphian, and after 40 years in journalism. A Tupelo, Mississippi, native, he graduated from Mississippi State University. He has lived in Midtown for 36 years.
