In a letter sent to University of Tennessee Health Science Center occupational-therapy students, the dean overseeing that department said the school has hired search firms to find replacements for five faculty members who resigned after accusations that officials failed to address a colleague accused of verbally abusing students.

In the letter sent Wednesday, March 18, Ashley Harkrider, dean of the College of Health Professions, said the school has hired Witt Kieffer, an academic search firm, to find a replacement for department chair Anne Zachry, one of those who resigned.

The others who resigned are Stephanie Lancaster, Orli Weisser-Pike, Lauren Woods and April Hilsdon.
