TPA will host the event at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. The organization invited Republican candidate U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Democratic candidate and Memphis City Council member Jerri Green and independent candidates David Hatley and Lauren Pinkston to participate in the Q&A session.

Green, Hatley and Pinkston have said they will attend, according to a TPA press release.

An MTSU student team will produce the livestream in a studio setting where moderators will ask the candidates questions submitted by TPA member news outlets from across the state. It is not open to the public.

The forum is the only nonpartisan event of its kind scheduled for the Nov. 3 election.

Founded in 1870, the Tennessee Press Association represents more than 133 print and digital news outlets across the state.
