Lawsuit filed against Shelby County regarding 2023 inmate beating
This lawsuit is the fourth the county faces regarding jail inmates. (The Daily Memphian file)
The suit alleges the county was negligent for its role in the “hiring, training and retention” of two corrections deputies who allegedly beat an inmate at 201 Poplar.

Once an intern, he never left, joining the staff full-time in 2022 as an education reporter.
