GPS monitors ‘cheaper than building more jails’ for Shelby County
Shelby County has intermittently funded GPS monitors in the past but soon Shelby County judges may be required to order some defendants to wear the monitors. Proponents of the GPS monitoring devices would like to see Shelby County fund them again but say that financial and logistical challenges stand in the way.
