Shawn Jones, who’s paid $177,768.76 annually as one of Memphis Police Department’s highest-ranking officials, is still a Georgia resident and has voted there twice this year.

When asked about Jones’ voting record, MPD issued this statement: “Shawn Jones’ primary residence is still in the state of Georgia. Tennessee state law does not permit restrictions on the residency of first responders.”

Jones served with interim MPD Chief C.J. Davis during their time in Atlanta and followed her to Memphis after her 2021 appointment.
