Rearrest rates up since standing bail order implemented
The report shows before the bail order was implemented, 81.2% of defendants were required to pay a money bond. That’s compared to 76.1% after the bail order was signed but before the Ability-to-Pay calculator was used. (Mark Weber/The Daily Memphian)
Though the overall increase was small, rearrest rates increased more rapidly for misdemeanors than for felonies.
