First half of 2026 sees continued decline in crime
Reported overall crime in Memphis went from 48,109 offenses in the first half of last year to 36,719 this year. The numbers fell from 55,292 last year to 42,256 this year in Shelby County overall. (The Daily Memphian file)
“We should be encouraged by the significant progress we’ve made in our crime rate,” said Crime Commission President Bill Gibbons.
